「Before Performance.」

神楽岡久美は、社会と身体との接点に着目し、文化的普遍性による「身体像」を探求している。

主な作品に「美的身体のメタモルフォーゼ」がある。

これは、人間社会の中で生まれた知力、体力、財力に次ぐ4 番目の価値として「美力」があるとし、それによる「装飾、拘束、欠損」といった人為的な身体改造を再考し、その背景にある「美的価値」に迫るリサーチベースの制作である。作品は立体作品をメインに、その設計図となるドローイングや試作、映像、写真、リサーチで収集した資料やテキストなどが含まれるインスタレーションがある。

今回の展覧会は、アートコレクターでもある茶人・近藤俊太郎氏が主宰する「アバンギャルド茶会」の教室として使われるマンションの一室を会場とし、神楽岡自身が在廊する日時のみオープンする。また、各部屋での作品展示、販売をはじめ、会期中は会場にて制作が行われるため、都度、試作や新作が追加されるなどの変化がある。

ギャラリー空間での展示とはまた一味違った「生活、制作、展示」を内包する展覧会となる。

1986年東京都生まれ。
2012年武蔵野美術大学大学院造形研究科デザイン専攻空間演出デザインコース修了。
2012年から14年まで玩具企画デザイン会社にて、商品企画、開発、デザイン、展示空間ディレクターを務めたのち作家として活動を始める。

2015年「SICF16」にてグランプリを受賞。Yuka Tsuruno Gallery、T -Art Galleryなどのギャラリーをはじめ、十和田市現代美術館（青森）、BankART1929（神奈川）などの美術館やアートセンターにて企画展、個展を行なう。2017年『アイスタイル芸術スポーツ振興財団』より助成アーティストとして選定される。「身体とは感覚を持って外界と対話するためのツールである。」をステートメントに、現在は、『美的身体のメタモルフォーゼ』の制作を行っている。

Before Performance.

Kaguraoka focuses on the interface between human society and the body, exploring the “image of the body” through cultural universality.
Her main work includes “Metamorphoses of Beautiful Bodies,” which is a research-based production that delves into the aesthetic value underlying artificial body modifications such as decoration, restraint, and excision, reconsidering them in the context of the fourth value, “aesthetic power,” following intellectual, physical, and financial strengths within human society. The work primarily consists of wearable three-dimensional pieces forming aesthetic bodies, accompanied by design drawings, prototypes, videos, photographs, and collected materials and texts from research, all incorporated into an installation.

The exhibition will be held in a room of an apartment building used as a classroom for the “AVANT-GARDE CHA KAI” organized by art collector and tea master Shuntaro Kondo, and will be open only when Kaguraoka herself is in the gallery. In addition to exhibiting and selling works in each room, the artist will be working at the venue during the exhibition period, so there will be changes such as the addition of prototypes and new works each time.

The exhibition will encompass “life, create, and exhibition,” which is different from an exhibition in a gallery space.
